OINP 2026 Redesign: Ontario PNP Status, Streams & Next Steps
Ontario redesigned the OINP on June 26, 2026. The former streams were removed, new EOIs are closed, and the Ontario Workforce Priority stream is expected to reopen later in summer 2026.
Portal reopening expected summer 2026
Former OINP fees: CAD 1,500-2,000
Permanent
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is Ontario's economic immigration program for nominating foreign workers, international students, and business owners for Canadian permanent residence. As of June 26, 2026, Ontario says the OINP has been redesigned: the former streams were removed, the new Ontario Workforce Priority stream was introduced, and the Expression of Interest (EOI) system is closed to new EOIs.
Indian applicants should not plan a new OINP application around the old nine-stream framework unless they already received an invitation or notification under that framework. Ontario says no further invitations will be issued under the former program streams, existing applications will be assessed using the rules in place when they were submitted, and the E-Filing Portal is expected to reopen later in summer 2026.

Eligibility
Who can apply for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program?
The old stream list is not the starting point for a new application after the June 26, 2026 redesign.
- Candidates who already submitted an OINP application before the redesign and are waiting for Ontario to assess it under the rules in place at the time of application
- Candidates who received a valid invitation to apply or notification of interest before the old-stream intake closed and still have access to the relevant application file
- Foreign workers, international students, and business owners who match Ontario labour-market priorities and should monitor the Ontario Workforce Priority stream reopening details
- Ontario employers seeking immigrant talent solutions through OINP business immigration services and employer portal updates
- Express Entry candidates interested in Ontario should keep their IRCC profile accurate, but should wait for official Ontario instructions before assuming a new OINP pathway is open
- Spouses or common-law partners and dependent children can generally be included with a provincial nominee PR application when the principal applicant is nominated
Do not submit or pay for a new OINP application until Ontario publishes the redesigned stream criteria and portal instructions.

Application Process
What to do after the OINP redesign
Check the OINP Redesign Status
Start on Ontario's official OINP page. As of June 26, 2026, Ontario says the former streams were removed, the EOI system is closed to new EOIs, and the new Ontario Workforce Priority stream has been introduced.
Confirm Whether You Already Have an Active File
If you already submitted an OINP application or received an invitation under the former framework, follow the file-specific deadline and document checklist in the e-Filing Portal.
Do Not Register a New Former-Stream EOI
Ontario says the EOI system is closed to new EOIs and no further invitations will be issued under the former program streams. Wait for official reopening instructions before preparing a new OINP application.
Keep Your Core PR Documents Ready
Keep passports, language test results, education records, work proof, and settlement plans current so you can move quickly when Ontario publishes the new stream instructions.
Monitor Ontario Updates and Invitations
Watch the OINP program updates and invitations pages for Ontario Workforce Priority stream details, e-Filing Portal reopening, and any new invitation rounds.
Apply Only After Ontario Confirms Eligibility
Submit an OINP application only after Ontario confirms the stream, eligibility criteria, required documents, and fee for your profile. Do not rely on old stream pages alone.
Apply to IRCC After Nomination
If Ontario nominates you, submit the federal permanent residence application to IRCC through the route specified in the nomination instructions and pay the applicable federal and biometrics fees.
Land in Canada and Settle in Ontario
After IRCC approval, you receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and PR visa. Land in Canada to activate PR status and settle in Ontario.
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is still Ontario's provincial nominee program, but the application strategy changed materially on June 26, 2026. For new applicants, the practical next step is to monitor the Ontario Workforce Priority stream and E-Filing Portal reopening instead of building a plan around the former stream list.
If you already have an OINP file, use your invitation, notification, and portal instructions as the controlling source. If you do not, keep your Express Entry profile and core documents ready, then wait for Ontario to publish the redesigned stream criteria before paying fees or preparing forms.
